The Whitacre

The Whitacre Engineering Company was founded in
Waynesburg, Ohio in 1920 to market and sell a proprietary hollow
core clay tile floor system known as the Shuster system. The system
utilized Kalex tile and reinforcing steel and was sold throughout
the Eastern United States. Modern advancements in cast in place
concrete construction rendered that system obsolete and Whitacre
evolved to become a reinforcing bar erector. The company
subsequently invested significant capital into its rebar fabrication
facilities. It now specializes in the turnkey package of fabricated
and installed reinforcing bar solutions.
